BEAUTIFUL SILVER CROSS WITH STONE FROM MT. CALVARY
We have recreated for you one of the most unique love gifts ever offered by TBN: a beautiful silver cross with a genuine stone from Mt. Calvary in Israel. I first came upon this idea back in 1997, while in Israel visiting the site of Mt. Calvary, also called Golgotha, or the “place of the skull.” It is still clearly visible just outside the Old Jerusalem City wall. With me was the late Norm Juggert, TBN’s attorney and board member. We noticed large stones from the side of Mt. Calvary protruding from the side of the mountain. The thought hit me, “Wouldn’t it be a priceless treasure if our partners could have a little piece of the actual mountain on which Jesus ‘paid it all’?” So, it was from the side of this historic mountain that Norm and I actually mined some large stones (pictured), which were cut, polished, inserted onto silver crosses, and then offered to our partners as a love gift.
Fast forward, now, to 2010: A Christian brother from Bethlehem was recently able to secure additional stones from Mt. Calvary, and so we are pleased to once again bring you this precious reminder of the great price Jesus paid for our salvation.
