“CALL UNTO ME, AND I WILL ANSWER THEE,
AND SHOW THEE GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS,
WHICH THOU KNOWEST NOT.” Jeremiah 33:3 KJV

Let’s face it — I don’t know the difference between Twitter and Facebook, and I’m not entirely sure how the internet works. But, I do know that through new technology, millions in formerly “closed off” areas of the world are now receiving the Gospel message through TBN.

Technology marches on with an ever quickening pace, from generation to generation, forever changing the world around us. It’s amazing to think that in the 20th century we went from “horse and buggy” to a man on the moon in less than 70 years! My own father never saw a television in his entire life, and yet a generation later TBN was birthed and now covers the world with 14 networks in multiple languages. We can refer to our vision as the Trinity Broadcasting Family of Networks. And…there’s so much more to come!

“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.” Joel 2:28 NKJV

In my younger days, when TBN was in its infancy, I was given many words of prophecy as well as visions from the Lord. I’ll never forget the awesome vision in 1975 when God revealed to me the incredible power of satellite to reach the world. Let’s face it: that vision opened up an amazing new door and changed everything forever!

But now I’m older (just turning 78) and I’m dreaming dreams! Dreams of the Gospel going to the ends of the earth and ushering in the glorious return of Jesus. Dreams of TBN reaching into every nook and cranny, every home, hut, and tent in the world! How? Through my children’s generation empowered by their own prophecies and visions and helped by the Lord Himself who says:

“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.” Proverbs 8:12 KJV

Yes, through the years God has given incredible ideas to His people on earth. This continues in our day and age, and WOW — what witty inventions they are! Utilizing the power and the flexibility of the internet — the 14 networks of TBN can right now be watched virtually everywhere in the world on home computers, laptops and through special applications (apps for short) on iPhones and Android devices. Millions of people are now using TBN’s groundbreaking “video on demand” service — iTBN — which allows viewers to watch “what they want to watch, when they want to watch it”! New iTBN apps are coming soon for iPhone, iPad, Android, Yahoo TV, and Roku TV!! Yes, TBN is everywhere…all our networks, all our programs, all over the world! Witty inventions indeed!

But let’s face it — there are challenges. The enemy will continue to try to use new technology for evil purposes and there will be calls for the Church to remove itself from new things to a place of safety and isolation. However, we will not make the same mistake made in the early days of movies, radio and TV when many said, “That’s the devil’s technology” and separated themselves, thus giving witty inventions over to the world. WE WILL USE EVERY TECHNOLOGY TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL! As the apostle Paul said:

“I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22 NKJV

Now let’s face it: new technology is and will continue to be very expensive. But how much is a soul worth? This mighty network was built by people stepping out in faith and now TBN, as it approaches its 39th birthday, is proclaiming the Gospel around the world in many languages, through 14 networks on more than 70 satellites, feeding TV stations, cable systems and home satellite receivers, as well as reaching the internet through streaming and video on demand. Jan and I know that you, our partners, will continue your incredible support that has kept Jan and me going through the years. Why? Because there are billions of souls yet to be saved and that —

“Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” Joel 2:32 NKJV

We’ve got work to do and we’ve got the technology to do it with…LET’S FACE IT!
