"YOU GET TO GIVE!" "SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU." Matthew 6:33 [PICTURE CAPTION: What an awesome privilege and responsibility God has given to US -- WE GET TO GIVE the Good News of JESUS to the WHOLE WIDE WORLD! Please join YOUR TBN family for PRAISE-A-THON, November 5-10!] What a joy to be able to GIVE to God to build HIS Kingdom on earth! We have taught for years that we GIVE to GET, or receive, from the Lord the things we NEED -- and this is very true. Of course, this truth has been mercilessly attacked by the critics and heresy hunters as false doctrine! The so-called "PROSPERITY GOSPEL" has been slandered and maligned by the "defenders of the faith once delivered to the saints," and in all fairness, there have been abuses by some who have carried this truth to the extreme. Every child of God is NOT destined to become a millionaire! But the truth of God, that we GIVE TO RECEIVE from Him, is as clear as the doctrine of salvation! Let's review for a moment what God said to Moses: "AND NO ONE SHALL COME BEFORE ME WITHOUT A GIFT." Exodus 34:20 TLB As we study the context of this passage, we see that the Old Testament saints came to the Temple of God to present their needs and make their requests known. Whether it be for forgiveness of sin, or any other request, you always came with a gift. In fact, in Moses' day, you did not get into church without it! Old Testament saints did not even expect to receive anything from God unless they brought their GIFT! Later, in Samuel's day when the Philistines were attacking the people of God, they cried to Samuel: "PLEAD WITH GOD TO SAVE US!" I Samuel 7:8 TLB So, what did Samuel do? "SAMUEL TOOK A SUCKLING LAMB AND OFFERED IT TO THE LORD AS A WHOLE BURNT OFFERING AND PLEADED WITH HIM TO HELP ISRAEL, AND THE LORD RESPONDED." I Samuel 7:9 TLB The story is thrilling: God thundered from Heaven, destroyed their enemies and gave His people the VICTORY! Are YOU being attacked by enemies? Need I say more? We have studied King Solomon and his great need for money and materials to build the magnificent Temple of God. We have learned, with interest, about the greatest GIFT of his life. In the face of his greatest need, HE GAVE HIS BEST TO GOD and that same night GOD APPEARED to him and said: "NOW ASK ME FOR ANYTHING, AND I WILL GIVE IT TO YOU." I Chronicles 1:7 TLB The rest of Solomon's story is just as thrilling! God made him the richest king in all of Israel's history! This truth is all through the Bible, but finally Jesus Himself confirms it when He says: "FOR IF YOU GIVE, YOU WILL GET! YOUR GIFT WILL RETURN TO YOU IN FULL AND OVERFLOWING MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER, TO MAKE ROOM FOR MORE AND RUNNING OVER!" From our station in MADRID, the satellite covers ALL of Europe, the Middle East, and much of Russia and Africa, 24 hours a day!] So, dear, dear Partners, the truth I want to share with you this time is: THE HERETIC HUNTERS HAVE REACHED US TOO LATE! We have PROVED GOD just as He challenged us to do in Malachi. Multitudes have written Jan and me to say, "IT WORKS! God has met my needs. I am coming out of debt. My children are now saved. My health is restored. HE HAS PROSPERED ME!" As Jan and I were discussing this great truth, she said, eyes lighting up, "We have proved that we DO GIVE TO RECEIVE -- multitudes of our Partners have RECEIVED. So, now -- 'WE GET TO GIVE!'" And what joy it brings to give back to God a portion of His blessings, as we build, build, build His glorious Kingdom here on earth through TBN and Christian television around the whole wide world! But wait -- there is more! The critics grudgingly agree that God has promised to meet our needs, but that is all! They have to admit from Paul's teaching: "BUT MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS." Philippines 4:19 The lie of the devil is that the saints of God should be poor and humble like Jesus! It would take a whole book to prove that Jesus was NOT poor, but that is another whole story. The reason the devil wants you to believe that lie is simple: "If he can keep the body of Christ POOR, we will not have the resources to build Christian television and the Kingdom of God on earth!" Thank God, a mighty army of God's people have taken hold of the truths of God's provision: "WE HAVE GIVEN, AND NOW WE HAVE RECEIVED!" Glory be to God Most High! And now with joy unspeakable and full of glory: WE GET TO GIVE! And, as we do, the goodness of God just keeps returning! I know that some of you are up and shouting, "GLORY!" right now along with Jan and me! We have learned the final and ultimate truth that fully destroys the critics' arguments: "DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD; AND HE SHALL GIVE THEE THE DESIRES OF THINE HEART." Psalms 37:4 Let the heretic hunters get along on crackers and cheese -- God's people can have even THE DESIRES of our hearts! Praise the Lord! Thousands of us cannot be wrong -- we have proved the promises of God -- we have received His multiplied blessings -- WE ARE BLESSED!
