Highly Anticipated "One Night With The King" in Theaters October 13th

September 26, 2006 (LOS ANGELES) -- Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world’s largest religious network and America’s most-watched faith channel, announced that One Night With The King, the highly anticipated motion picture TBN is producing in partnership with Gener8Xion Entertainment, will open in theaters nationwide on October 13th.
Based on the best-selling novel Hadassah: One Night With The King by Tommy Tenney and Mark Andrew Olsen, this dramatic big-screen adaptation chronicles a young woman’s rise from peasant to princess, her courageous role in the redemption of her people from destruction and death, and her winning of the love of the most powerful man in the kingdom -- by seeking his heart rather than the riches of his kingdom.
Paul Crouch, Jr., TBN’s Vice President of Administration, said that following its run in more than 900 theaters in select cities across America, One Night With The King will make its television debut on TBN worldwide on March 14th 2007, the date which coincides with the Jewish holiday of Purim. “Purim is one of the most joyous holidays on the Jewish calendar,” said Crouch. “It is based on the book of Esther and commemorates that historical time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination. One Night With The King brings to life the story of Esther’s courage and faith on behalf of God’s people.”
One Night With The King stars two of Hollywood’s most legendary living icons, Peter O’Toole and Omar Sharif, along with the renowned John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings trilogy), Luke Goss (Blade II, ZigZag), John Noble (Lord of the Rings: Return of the King), Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister (Next Friday), James Callis (Bridget Jones Diary, Battlestar Galactica), Jonah Lotan (24, The Jacket) and Hollywood newcomer Tiffany Dupont.
“One Night With The King is a story of divine destiny,” said the film’s producer Matthew Crouch, chairman and CEO of Gener8Xion Entertainment. “Hadassah was a poor, unknown peasant girl, an orphan, an outcast from a distant land, who went on to become queen of a powerful empire. Her poignant story proves that anyone, no matter their circumstances, can rise to greatness when guided by the hand of destiny.”
Shot entirely on location in Rajasthan – India ‘s very own land of the kings – One Night With The King exudes exotic splendor. “The lush color and vigorous landscape seen throughout the movie can only be captured in a classic old-world setting, ripe with millennia of history,” noted Crouch. “One Night With The King is rich with mystical allure, suspense, intrigue, and political intrigue within unparalleled drama. It’s an unforgettable love story set in a world of adventure and it appeals to people of all faiths.”
Paul Crouch Jr. noted that TBN is the undisputed leader in producing and airing quality inspirational programming, including the best in faith-based and family-friendly movies. “That is why TBN has partnered to produce this moving and powerful motion picture based on one of the Old Testament’s most beloved characters,” he said.
