TBN Introduces Season Two of Wacky Christian Sit-Com “Pastor Greg”
LOS ANGELES (February 1, 2007) --- The world’s first – and wackiest – Christian sit-com, “Pastor Greg” is back for another season of rollicking good times on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), America’s most watched faith channel.
The groundbreaking half-hour comedy, which garnered major national exposure and critical acclaim from both faith-based and secular media, continues the sanctified misadventures of former gambling, drinking, womanizing reprobate Greg Wilson, who “sees the light” and answers God’s call to become a full-time pastor.
This season Pastor Greg has a new congregation and an all-new cast of zany, lovable parishioners to shepherd through an unending maze of unbelievably funny, unforgettable episodes.
There’s also a new leading lady for Pastor Greg, and when the happy couple’s wedding plans are hijacked by Greg’s well-meaning but over-bearing mom (played to perfection by “Gilligan’s Island” star Dawn Wells), the results are, well -- insane to say the least!
“People are sometimes taken aback by the notion of a Christian sit-com,” said the show’s creator and producer Greg Robbins, who, not coincidentally, also plays the role of Pastor Greg. “But we’ve always started from the idea that God has a sense of humor, and he not only wants us to have faith in him, but to have fun along the way.”
Lot’s of fun, in good clean doses, is what “Pastor Greg” is all about. “These are exciting times for faith- and family-friendly television,” said Susan Zahn, an expert in faith-based media. “Shows like ‘Pastor Greg’ are proving that Christian programming is on the cutting edge, and TBN continues to take the lead.”
The second exciting season of “Pastor Greg” will debut on TBN Friday, February 2nd, at 11:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). Check TBN’s program guide (www.tbn.org) for weekly broadcast times.
“Pastor Greg” also airs on JCTV Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. (PST).
