TBN Kicks off Holiday Season With a Week of Family Movies

LOS ANGELES (November 15, 2012) ― Holidays are a family affair on Trinity Broadcasting Network, America's most watched faith channel, and this Thanksgiving week will bring some film favorites guaranteed to entertain and inspire viewers of all ages.

For years TBN has had a special spot for Bible movies, and this holiday week brings several dramatic and moving renditions of beloved Old and New Testament accounts, including:

Joseph. Starring Academy Award-winners Ben Kingsley and Martin Landau, this big-screen epic recounts the miraculous story of the son of Jacob who rose above enslavement and treachery to save his people and the land of Egypt from famine. Airs November 19 (check here for broadcast times).

The Ten Commandments. This modern movie version recounts how God raised up Moses to lead His people out of bondage and prepare them for the Promise land. Airs November 20 and 21 (check here for broadcast times).

Jesus of Nazareth. This made-for-TV chronicle of the life of Jesus Christ stars a veritable “Who's Who” of Hollywood legends, including Laurence Olivier, Anne Bancroft, Michael York, James Mason, Rod Steiger, and Robert Powell as Jesus. Airs November 22 (check here for broadcast times).

King of Kings. Starring Jeffrey Hunter, this classic 1961 big-screen, technicolor film dramatically retells the life of the Savior from his lowly birth in Bethlehem, through his three-year public ministry and tragic crucifixion, to his glorious resurrection. Airs November 25 (check here for broadcast times).

In addition to these powerful movies based on Scripture, TBN's Thanksgiving week lineup includes a number of modern inspirational and entertaining movies that have already become family classics, including Fireproof, A Walk to Remember, Facing the Giants, The Perfect Gift, and a new 2012 release, Hardflip (check here for broadcast times for all movies).

“Holidays have always been a special time here at TBN,” said TBN Vice President Matt Crouch, “and we're blessed to be able to offer these entertaining and impacting films the whole family can sit down and watch together this Thanksgiving season. It's all part of what makes TBN the most popular faith-and-family network in the world.”
