This week’s “fireworks” kick off with the documentary George W. Bush: Faith in the White House. Not since the days of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln has a President turned to his Christian faith for help in making decisions and leading the United States in its hour of crisis. Showtime: Friday, June 30th, 9:00 pm PST (repeats Saturday, July 1st, 11:00pm).
Viewers won’t want to miss Warriors of Honor, a documentary that speaks plainly about the Christian faith of Confederate Generals Lee and Jackson. This beautiful and accurate film recounts the lives of two great Southern leaders and a war that forever changed our country. Showtime: Saturday, July 1st, 10:00pm (repeats July 4th, 4:30pm).
TBN will also air the outstanding docu-drama The Conscientious Objector, which tells the remarkable true story of Desmond T. Doss, the only American soldier ever to be awarded the Medal of Honor despite refusing to carry a weapon. Showtime: Sunday, July 2nd, 7:00pm PST(repeats Monday, July 3rd, 3:00pm).
The critically acclaimed documentary League of Grateful Sons takes viewers into the spiritual legacy of the men who fought World War II, and highlights the sons and daughters who came after them. More than 406,000 American soldiers died, leaving an estimated 183,000 children fatherless, while hundreds of thousands of other U.S. troops came back to a grateful nation, to continue with their lives. This is a piece of profoundly moving America history. Showtime: Monday, July 3rd, 8:30pm PST (repeats July 4th, 3:30-pm).
On the 4th of July, TBN viewers will be treated to two spectacular documentaries. In the Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed tackles the complex issues surrounding the Reagan administration’s dealings with the Communist threat, while providing a precise summary of events that occurred in the 1980s, when Russia was perceived as an enormous global menace. President Reagan’s strategy for dealing with the “Evil Empire” is outlined with vintage footage that helps provide visual clues as to what occurred during this tumultuous period in world history. Showtime: 7:00 pm PST (repeats at 11:00pm).
Finally, you won’t want to miss America’s Godly Heritage. This remarkable documentary jewel maps our country’s spiritual Heritage back to Plymouth and the pilgrims, while diagramming the challenges we face as a nation in the 21st century. Showtime: July 4th, 9:30pm PST.
