William Tyndale 1494-1536 Tyndale translated and printed a forbidden book -- the English Bible. In so doing, he created the modern English language we speak today. Yet this great scholar was an exile, a hunted criminal and like the Lord he served, he was betrayed by a proclaimed friend.
