“This celebration allows us to gain a much deeper understanding of the the person and work of Messiah.” — RABBI JASON SOBEL
Dear Friend and Partner,
As we prepare to celebrate the victorious resurrection of our Savior on this upcoming Easter Sunday, we are excited once this year to bring our TBN viewers across the earth the powerful interactive presentation Jesus in the Passover, airing live on Thursday, April 6, at 8 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Central. Click here to learn what you will need to prepare for your Passover celebration.
In this life-changing live event, Messianic Rabbi Jason Sobel will guide us through an actual Jewish Passover Seder, using both Old and New Testament scriptures to explain the profound meaning and symbolism of each element and step, and how it is all meant to reveal Jesus, the Messiah, and His redemptive purpose for all of humanity.
“Passover is more than just a holiday,” explains Rabbi Jason. “It’s a day when God protected His people, and it set in motion a series of events that led to Yeshua. Understanding Passover helps us to understand Scripture as a whole.
Through it we dive into redemption and embrace what it meant during the Exodus — and what it means for us today.”
One thing many Christians may not realize is that the Last Supper Jesus shared with His disciples just a day before His crucifixion on Good Friday — and upon which we base our Communion observance — was actually a traditional Jewish Passover Seder. When we participate in a Passover Seder, we have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the character of Jesus, our Messiah, and His heart of compassion and mercy for each of us.
“Messiah Yeshua lived and died as an observant Jew who sought to fulfill God’s promises to the Jewish people, bring salvation to Israel, and the Nations,” Rabbi Jason explains in his book Messiah’s Seder: A Passover Experience for Christians and Messianic Jews. “Every aspect of the Passover Seder points to Him. By celebrating Passover, we honor, remember, and reenact what He did with His disciples. We also connect to the Jewish roots of faith, and the people of Israel. This celebration allows us to gain a much deeper understanding of the person and work of Messiah.”
Over the years Laurie and I have participated in several Passover Seders, and each time we have been profoundly impacted by the truths revealed through the elements and the steps — about Jesus and His suffering, death, and resurrection, and about the forgiveness and redemption He purchased for each of us through His finished work on Calvary.
We want to personally invite you to join us for this live Passover Seder with Rabbi Jason and fellow believers around the world. In preparation please take a few moments to visit TBN.org/passover for a brief explanation of the simple elements you will need in order to fully participate.
