This month across our TBN platforms we are emphasizing one of the key promises God gives every believer through the finished work of Christ — but which so many of God’s children seem reluctant to claim and boldly embrace: divine healing and health.
In one of the most foundational passages about the coming Messiah, the prophet Isaiah makes four incredible statements concerning the suffering Jesus would go through on our behalf: He was “pierced for our transgressions,” He was “crushed for our iniquities,”
He was punished for our peace — and with a huge crescendo Isaiah concludes that “by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5, NIV).
Yes, God’s Word is clear. Not only has Jesus purchased our salvation, forgiveness of sins, and a peace that “surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). His suffering, death, and resurrection also give us the promise that we can have healing from every sickness, and we can live in vibrant health.
"...there is no part of your flesh that His Word will not touch with its life-giving healing properties." — JOSEPH PRINCE
This is a promise that our good friend and TBN ministry partner, Pastor Joseph Prince, has been emphasizing for years. Laurie and I sat down with Pastor Joseph recently to discuss healing and divine health. “Whether we’re trusting the Lord for a healing breakthrough, or we simply desire to walk in a greater measure of the divine health he promised,” he told us, “each of us needs to catch a glimpse of how deeply our Lord Jesus loves us and wants us healed and whole in every way.”
Pastor Joseph went on to note that the best place for us to discover the depths of Jesus’ incomparable love and His healing power is in God’s Word. “Proverbs 4:22 declares that His words are life and health to all our flesh,” he explained. “This means there is no part of your flesh that His Word will not touch with its life-giving healing properties.”
He added that “I give thanks for medicine. It has helped so many people. But while medicine may benefit one part of your body, only the Word of God is health to all of your body.”
Psalm 107:20 says that God sent His Word to heal us. And for nearly fifty years TBN’s mission has been to offer a clear voice of God’s Word throughout the world, bringing the salvation, hope, and healing of Jesus to individuals and families everywhere.
Never forget, dear friend, that you are key to all we do here at TBN. Through your prayer, partnership, and support, together we are fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission to take the good news of Jesus throughout the entire earth.
Thank you for standing with us to reach the nations with the love of Jesus.
May God bless you always,
Matt and Laurie
