Is there purpose in suffering?
1 Peter 5:10 says “And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
In this clip, Sheila Walsh points to 1 Peter 5:10 to unpack God’s purpose behind trials and tribulations. Peter wrote to believers in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), who were suffering great persecution. They were being verbally abused and discriminated against because they believed in Jesus. He wrote to encourage and remind them that in the end Jesus always wins.
Every word in this text tells a vivid picture and describes how God works in suffering.
- God restores and mends what’s broken!
- God is a redeemer and will bring beauty from pain!
