Giving Thanks in Every Season - 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18
“In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Fast forward four hundred years, and while our circumstances may look far different from that which the Pilgrims faced, as a nation and people we still stand in need of a touch from God. From the ongoing pandemic to the social turmoil that has impacted so many areas, it is clear that America today needs God’s mercy and intervention.
Similarly, like the Pilgrims of old, it is important for us to express our gratitude to God for His faithfulness in our lives and circumstances, in spite of every hardship and uncertainty we may be facing.
Recently, Laurie and I sat down with our good friend, Franklin Graham, to talk about the day of prayer he and other Christian leaders hosted September 26 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. On that day tens of thousands of Christians flooded the area around our nation’s Capitol, standing in unified prayer for God’s mercy and for a return of America to faith in Him. You can watch the full program here.
“As Christians, during this holiday season we have an opportunity to demonstrate the true meaning of gratefulness to God . . .”
If God’s people pray, He will hear and He will answer, Franklin, emphasized. “Pray for repentance,” he said. “Pray for revival. Pray for God to open blind eyes, unstop deaf ears, and bring men and women — the Silent Generation, Boomers, Millennials, Gen X and Gen Z — to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.” He added that “it is regenerate people, born again by God’s Spirit, who are empowered by Him to live holy and godly lives.”
As Laurie and I listened to Franklin’s heart for revival and restoration in America, our own hearts were ignited afresh with the passion that has been foundational to TBN for nearly fifty years. As my dad, TBN founder Paul Crouch Sr., famously said on many occasions, TBN is all about bringing “souls, souls, souls” to faith and maturity in Christ. Without the “Prince of Peace” there can be no lasting peace on earth.
That’s why we are so grateful to you, our many TBN friends and partners, who stand with us in prayer and financial commitment. Your partnership ensures that day and night TBN’s family of networks is reaching across America and around the world with programming that is ministering the hope and grace of Jesus to untold millions of individuals and families.
