For each of us as Christ followers, heaven is not a place we “might” get to go to someday, but a virtual certainty. Jesus assures us that He has gone to His “Father’s house” to prepare a place for us, “that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:2-3). And while most of us probably don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it, since Jesus has made preparing our place in heaven a priority, it ought to have some “band width” in our own hearts and minds.
"The realization that we are headed to a new location called 'heaven' should be great motivation for us..." — Robert Jeffress
As our good friend, Dr. Robert Jeffress, writes in his book, A Place Called Heaven, the fact that our years on earth are relatively short, when compared to eternity, should cause us as believers to live with heaven in mind. “The realization that we are headed to a new location called ‘heaven’ should be great motivation for us to spend our limited time on earth productively,” he writes. “No need to be concerned about piling up a large amount of money — we’ll leave it all behind when we depart. No reason to be fixated on what other people do to us or think about us — our calling to our new location is assured. Instead, grasping the reality of that ‘place called heaven’ that awaits us should liberate us to invest our few remaining years on earth as wisely as possible.”
That is what motivates us here at your TBN — to be fully engaged in the work of Christ’s Great Commission to reach the world with the message of hope and grace for all the days we have available to us. And we are deeply grateful to friends and partners like you who join us in prayer and support as we cover the earth with engaging and relevant Christian programming that is bringing people to Jesus and ministering hope and healing twenty-four hours a day. Thank you for your commitment. It is because of you that we are able to share the love of Jesus to millions of individuals and families around the world.
God’s richest blessings to you and yours,
Matt and Laurie
