Pastor Steven Furtick reminds us to obey God and trust His plan even when we don't know the outcome.
It is hard to hear God’s still voice when we drown it out with our own agenda.
Oftentimes, we place expectations on God by telling Him how we want our prayers to be answered. In this video, Pastor Steven Furtick poses a challenge to believers: Will you trust God with the outcome no matter what?
Our finances, relationships, and goals can easily be centered around our plans. However, we forget that God’s plan for our life is greater than anything we can create for ourselves. Everyone has battles weighing them down, but through it all we need to say, "God is going to get me through this.”
Pastor Steven uses the example of Peter to illustrate how to trust in God through uncertainty. In Acts 12:8-9, Peter encountered an angel while he was chained in prison. The angel told Peter to put clothes on and follow him out of prison. At first, Peter thought he was seeing a vision, nonetheless, he obeyed.
Pastor Steven believes: “Faith is the act of getting dressed even when you don't know where you are going.”
Peter faithfully followed the angel into the unknown. He did not ask, “Where are we going?” Peter trusted that in uncertainty God had a plan. Pastor Steven reminds believers that, “obedience creates freedom from needing to know the outcome.”
You do not have to be Peter to be in prison. Your anxiety, your mindset, your isolation can imprison you. However, we need to remember that victory comes from recognizing God’s voice and trusting in His plan. Be encouraged!
Romans 8:28 says: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
