Empty Out the Negative.
“The scripture says in Ephesians 4:27, ‘Give no place to the enemy.’ That means give no place to guilt, give no place to worry, give no place to bitterness. It can’t come in automatically and take over. You control what’s in your container. You control what you think about, what you choose to allow in….” - Joel Osteen.
When we allow guilt, worry, and bitterness into our lives, it leaves us with less room for joy, peace, and worship. What we allow into our lives becomes part of who we are. When we allow emotions that do not have spiritual benefit into our lives, we’re only operating on a fraction of our potential. Negative thoughts and emotions can affect our lives and how we treat others.
In this new year of 2021, Joel Osteen is encouraging our TBN family to empty out the negative and make room for what God can do in our lives!
Emptying out the negative looks different for everyone, but some examples are:
● Choosing to forgive instead of holding a grudge
● Choosing to be confident in God’s plans for us instead of worrying
● Choosing to be thankful for what we have instead of envying what we don’t have
● Choosing to love instead of judge others (because judging is God’s job, not ours)
When we empty out the negative and leave room for God, we’ll be amazed at what He will do!
