JOY IN OUR TOWN REGIONAL COORDINATOR

 

Joy in Our Town (JIOT) is a 30-minute, weekly public affairs program produced by Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world’s most watched faith and family broadcaster with 37 full power television stations across the United States. The JIOT program serves the needs and interests of the local communities its television stations reach by featuring stories and interviews about churches, ministries, and organizations that provide services to the local community. 

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Production, the JIOT Regional Coordinator is responsible for:

 

Reviewing pre-interview, audition video segments and b-roll submitted by the stations within their assigned region for the purpose of selecting the topics and guests that will be on program. Traveling to the stations whose segments have been selected and videotaping guest interviews to be featured on the program.  Editing and producing the final ready-to-air program. 

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Selection of video segments with topics and guests to be featured on the program.

  2. Travel to regional stations for the purpose of taping interviews.

  3. Scheduling and post-production.

  4. Assisting in the editing and delivery of segments.

  5. Setting up remotes, control room production.

  6. Assisting in the planning and production of taped segments.

  7. Working with on-camera talent as required.

  8. Knowledge of editing and videography procedures.

  9. Post-produces television programs: makes editorial decisions regarding assembly of information and content.

  10. As needed, may liaise with other TBN departments including, production, legal, and marketing.

  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Required skills:

 

  • Knowledge of television programming concepts, principles, methodology, and techniques.
  • Ability to formulate broadcast programming concepts and to plan, develop, and implement pre-recorded television programs. 
  • Knowledge of television graphic design methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of television production set design principles and techniques.
  • Experience with professional audio/video and staging techniques, facilities, and equipment.
  • Experience with professional audio and video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards.
  • Knowledge of broadcast rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with in-studio and remote production techniques, methods, and procedures.
  • Experience with effective project and time management.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Experience generating creative ideas and concepts.
  • Experience working well with others.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years’ experience producing and editing television programs; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.  Excellent video production skills including camera, editing, lighting.  Knowledge of common digital editing systems such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier.  Must be able to travel.
