Bio

Clifton Davis is an award-winning actor, producer, singer, and composer (he penned the Jackson Five hit "Never Can Say Goodbye"). Best known for his role as Reverend Rueben Gregory in the hit NBC sit-com Amen (1986-91), Clifton also played the Sultan in the Broadway production of Aladdin (2014-15). An ordained minister, Clifton evangelized throughout the U.S. for 25 years, and has received 120 awards and citations for his social, civic, and spiritual service. He is listed In Who's Who in America, and has been recognized by such organizations as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, World Vision, UNCF, and the the NAACP.
