  • 00:00:55.190 --> 00:01:00.230
  • Let every heart that needs to know
  • 00:01:00.240 --> 00:01:05.280
  • your love is here to stay
  • 00:01:05.290 --> 00:01:08.100
  • Oh-oh
  • 00:01:08.110 --> 00:01:09.290
  • It's time we live a new life
  • 00:01:10.000 --> 00:01:12.110
  • Oh-oh
  • 00:01:12.120 --> 00:01:13.290
  • Let the sun shine bright in you
  • 00:01:14.000 --> 00:01:16.170
  • Oh-oh
  • 00:01:16.180 --> 00:01:18.090
  • We are saved by his grace, so we embrace your love today
  • 00:01:18.100 --> 00:01:23.060
  • We are changed
  • 00:01:23.070 --> 00:01:26.150
  • Creflo: Are you living your Christian life
  • 00:01:28.020 --> 00:01:29.240
  • as if Jesus never died?
  • 00:01:29.250 --> 00:01:32.030
  • If you're living by the Old Covenant, you're living as if
  • 00:01:32.040 --> 00:01:35.060
  • Jesus never shed his precious blood on the cross.
  • 00:01:35.070 --> 00:01:38.250
  • He died so we can live under a new covenant
  • 00:01:38.260 --> 00:01:41.210
  • and a better covenant.
  • 00:01:41.220 --> 00:01:43.130
  • Your impression of God will determine the experience you
  • 00:01:43.140 --> 00:01:46.280
  • have with him, and you need to understand the nature of God
  • 00:01:46.290 --> 00:01:51.240
  • in order to maintain an authentic relationship
  • 00:01:51.250 --> 00:01:54.210
  • with him.
  • 00:01:54.220 --> 00:01:56.030
  • We're looking through the lens of God's grace.
  • 00:01:56.040 --> 00:01:59.150
  • Stay tuned.
  • 00:01:59.160 --> 00:02:01.160
  • Creflo: Let's begin in Saint John chapter 1, Saint John
  • 00:02:01.170 --> 00:02:05.210
  • chapter 1, and I want to call this Living Through the Lens
  • 00:02:05.220 --> 00:02:10.040
  • of Grace.
  • 00:02:10.050 --> 00:02:12.240
  • Living Through the Lens of Grace.
  • 00:02:12.250 --> 00:02:17.060
  • Saint John chapter 1, let's begin at verse 14 and 17.
  • 00:02:17.070 --> 00:02:22.100
  • Now, remember this is a foundational message, which
  • 00:02:22.110 --> 00:02:26.230
  • means I've got to take you through a lot of scriptures
  • 00:02:26.240 --> 00:02:29.290
  • to establish the truth.
  • 00:02:30.000 --> 00:02:32.010
  • I'm not going to establish the truth based on my opinion.
  • 00:02:32.020 --> 00:02:35.040
  • I'm not going to establish a truth based on what I think.
  • 00:02:35.050 --> 00:02:38.220
  • I have to establish the truth with the word of God in proper
  • 00:02:38.230 --> 00:02:42.280
  • context so that we can establish that this thing is true.
  • 00:02:42.290 --> 00:02:47.080
  • Now, John-- Saint John chapter 1:14, let's read verse 14
  • 00:02:47.090 --> 00:02:51.010
  • out loud together, ready, read.
  • 00:02:51.020 --> 00:02:52.200
  • "And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
  • 00:02:52.210 --> 00:02:57.110
  • beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten
  • 00:02:57.120 --> 00:03:01.080
  • of the Father,)
  • 00:03:01.090 --> 00:03:02.240
  • full of grace and truth."
  • 00:03:02.250 --> 00:03:05.050
  • Now, this scripture is referring to who?
  • 00:03:05.060 --> 00:03:08.030
  • Jesus, Jesus was the only begotten of the father, right?
  • 00:03:08.040 --> 00:03:11.240
  • Jesus, he said Jesus, the only begotten of the father,
  • 00:03:11.250 --> 00:03:15.120
  • and notice what he says about Jesus.
  • 00:03:15.130 --> 00:03:17.130
  • Jesus, Jesus full of grace and truth.
  • 00:03:17.140 --> 00:03:22.030
  • So, now, let's establish this in your thinking, that grace is
  • 00:03:22.040 --> 00:03:26.110
  • not just a subject matter, that grace is not just a curriculum,
  • 00:03:26.120 --> 00:03:32.110
  • grace is a person, his name is Jesus, Jesus full of what?
  • 00:03:32.120 --> 00:03:38.120
  • Grace, and once you learn grace, you get the truth.
  • 00:03:42.130 --> 00:03:46.130
  • So we're talkin' about a person, we're talkin' about a person,
  • 00:03:46.140 --> 00:03:49.240
  • grace is a person, not just the subject matter, even though
  • 00:03:49.250 --> 00:03:53.240
  • we're talking about the subject of grace, even though there is
  • 00:03:53.250 --> 00:03:56.090
  • a covenant of grace, do not forget that grace is a person,
  • 00:03:56.100 --> 00:04:01.100
  • his name is Jesus.
  • 00:04:01.110 --> 00:04:03.260
  • So in this series, we're going to unveil Jesus, we're gonna
  • 00:04:03.270 --> 00:04:09.240
  • unveil Jesus, so you can see that this entire covenant
  • 00:04:09.250 --> 00:04:15.240
  • of grace is all about Jesus.
  • 00:04:15.250 --> 00:04:19.010
  • Everything about our Christian life hinges on him.
  • 00:04:19.020 --> 00:04:25.020
  • There's no option other than Jesus under this covenant.
  • 00:04:26.230 --> 00:04:31.040
  • There is no personality on this planet, no personality that
  • 00:04:31.050 --> 00:04:35.220
  • exist, that this grace hinges upon except Jesus.
  • 00:04:35.230 --> 00:04:41.230
  • You understand that?
  • 00:04:42.100 --> 00:04:43.160
  • Now look at verse 17.
  • 00:04:43.170 --> 00:04:45.050
  • He says now, "For the law was given" by who?
  • 00:04:45.060 --> 00:04:51.060
  • Now the law.
  • 00:04:51.120 --> 00:04:54.150
  • You can find the law in the book of Exodus, Leviticus,
  • 00:04:54.160 --> 00:05:00.180
  • Deuteronomy, all of those those first books in the Bible.
  • 00:05:00.240 --> 00:05:05.160
  • Genesis is more of a book of generations, but you see
  • 00:05:05.170 --> 00:05:09.150
  • the law in those books.
  • 00:05:09.160 --> 00:05:11.050
  • It's 613 of 'em, 10 of 'em were written on stone.
  • 00:05:11.060 --> 00:05:17.060
  • The rest of them were written on scrolls.
  • 00:05:18.060 --> 00:05:20.250
  • So we're not just talking about the Ten Commandments,
  • 00:05:20.260 --> 00:05:24.090
  • the Ten Commandments, they are included in the 613, but these
  • 00:05:24.100 --> 00:05:28.230
  • are laws that were given to try to in a sense curb sin.
  • 00:05:28.240 --> 00:05:34.240
  • There were things that were wrong, and in a sense, we had
  • 00:05:38.040 --> 00:05:42.000
  • to create a-- God had to create a consciousness of that what you
  • 00:05:42.010 --> 00:05:46.010
  • were doing was wrong.
  • 00:05:46.020 --> 00:05:47.160
  • So a law had to be given, laws had to be given so men would
  • 00:05:47.170 --> 00:05:52.120
  • at least know that there are the boundaries.
  • 00:05:52.130 --> 00:05:55.130
  • And so there were ceremonial laws, there were dietary laws,
  • 00:05:55.140 --> 00:05:59.240
  • there were different kinds of laws that came up to 613,
  • 00:05:59.250 --> 00:06:04.120
  • the laws that came by Moses.
  • 00:06:04.130 --> 00:06:09.010
  • So he said, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace
  • 00:06:09.020 --> 00:06:15.020
  • and truth" came by?
  • 00:06:15.100 --> 00:06:18.180
  • Grace and truth came by?
  • 00:06:18.190 --> 00:06:22.170
  • Who's responsible for the law?
  • 00:06:22.180 --> 00:06:26.030
  • Who's responsible for grace and truth?
  • 00:06:26.040 --> 00:06:28.280
  • Now, we're not talking about grace one and in addition
  • 00:06:28.290 --> 00:06:32.060
  • to the grace truth too.
  • 00:06:32.070 --> 00:06:34.080
  • No, grace is the truth.
  • 00:06:34.090 --> 00:06:40.090
  • You'll remember when Jesus was talking to these Jews, in John
  • 00:06:41.250 --> 00:06:45.290
  • chapter 8, and he was saying to these Jews, he said, "If you
  • 00:06:46.000 --> 00:06:51.180
  • continue in my word, you will be my disciples indeed, and you'll
  • 00:06:51.190 --> 00:06:57.110
  • know the truth.
  • 00:06:57.120 --> 00:06:59.090
  • And the truth will make you free."
  • 00:06:59.100 --> 00:07:02.000
  • Well, he identified, he was talking to Jewish people.
  • 00:07:02.010 --> 00:07:05.070
  • Now, please understand Jewish people were trained in the law
  • 00:07:05.080 --> 00:07:09.180
  • that came from Moses.
  • 00:07:09.190 --> 00:07:12.060
  • They were trained, there was a celebration of their training
  • 00:07:12.070 --> 00:07:15.030
  • called a bar mitzvah, where they would demonstrate their
  • 00:07:15.040 --> 00:07:19.210
  • understanding of learning of the law, and the law that
  • 00:07:19.220 --> 00:07:25.220
  • came by Moses.
  • 00:07:25.230 --> 00:07:27.180
  • Jewish people were trained by the law that came by Moses.
  • 00:07:27.190 --> 00:07:30.020
  • So Jesus comes up to these Jews, and he says, "If you continue
  • 00:07:30.030 --> 00:07:33.200
  • in my word, you'll know the truth."
  • 00:07:33.210 --> 00:07:37.180
  • Watch this.
  • 00:07:37.190 --> 00:07:38.180
  • "And the truth will make you free."
  • 00:07:38.190 --> 00:07:42.050
  • What was indication here?
  • 00:07:42.060 --> 00:07:43.200
  • Talking to Jewish people.
  • 00:07:43.210 --> 00:07:45.000
  • The truth that you come to know will make you free from the law.
  • 00:07:45.010 --> 00:07:49.220
  • That's what that was talkin' about.
  • 00:07:49.230 --> 00:07:51.180
  • He, Jesus, in Galatians was born to set those who were
  • 00:07:51.190 --> 00:07:56.070
  • under the law free from the law.
  • 00:07:56.080 --> 00:07:59.140
  • So he said to Jewish people, The" truth that I'm going
  • 00:07:59.150 --> 00:08:02.120
  • to tell you is gonna make you free from the "law.
  • 00:08:02.130 --> 00:08:07.100
  • Well, what was that truth?
  • 00:08:07.110 --> 00:08:08.100
  • Grace.
  • 00:08:08.110 --> 00:08:09.260
  • Say this out loud: "Grace is the truth that sets men free."
  • 00:08:09.270 --> 00:08:15.270
  • And say it again, "Grace is the truth, grace is the truth."
  • 00:08:16.040 --> 00:08:22.050
  • Now why do I say that?
  • 00:08:22.060 --> 00:08:23.120
  • You come to church and somebody says, "Well, you know, if you
  • 00:08:23.130 --> 00:08:26.150
  • continue in the word, you'll know the truth, and the truth
  • 00:08:26.160 --> 00:08:28.160
  • makes you free."
  • 00:08:28.170 --> 00:08:29.160
  • And they open their Bible up and say, "See?
  • 00:08:29.170 --> 00:08:30.170
  • The truth is the whole Bible."
  • 00:08:30.180 --> 00:08:31.250
  • No, no, no, we can't do that anymore.
  • 00:08:31.260 --> 00:08:33.270
  • We've got to have precision, we've gotta be precise, because
  • 00:08:33.280 --> 00:08:39.280
  • it's not the whole Bible.
  • 00:08:40.190 --> 00:08:42.270
  • It is rightly dividing the word from the law that came by Moses
  • 00:08:42.280 --> 00:08:48.270
  • from the truth that came by Jesus Christ.
  • 00:08:49.150 --> 00:08:52.250
  • And the truth that came by Jesus Christ is called grace.
  • 00:08:52.260 --> 00:08:57.050
  • Say it again, "Grace is the truth that sets men free
  • 00:08:57.060 --> 00:09:01.210
  • from the law."
  • 00:09:01.220 --> 00:09:05.040
  • Now, I gotta tell ya, if you don't know it, mostly all of us
  • 00:09:05.050 --> 00:09:07.250
  • in here came up in church under the law.
  • 00:09:07.260 --> 00:09:12.240
  • Most all of us were trained in the law.
  • 00:09:12.250 --> 00:09:14.260
  • You got to do this or this is going to happen.
  • 00:09:14.270 --> 00:09:16.230
  • You gotta keep the Ten Commandments, or that's going
  • 00:09:16.240 --> 00:09:18.160
  • to happen.
  • 00:09:18.170 --> 00:09:19.220
  • If you want God to do something for you, you gotta do these
  • 00:09:19.230 --> 00:09:21.180
  • three things, but we will all trained up under the law.
  • 00:09:21.190 --> 00:09:24.120
  • The law was a performance-based situation, and you had to be
  • 00:09:24.130 --> 00:09:27.290
  • trained to do this in order for God to do that.
  • 00:09:28.000 --> 00:09:30.130
  • And so what has happened over the last seven or eight
  • 00:09:30.140 --> 00:09:33.100
  • years in our church is now you've been-- you've been
  • 00:09:33.110 --> 00:09:37.090
  • educated in grace, and the grace that you've been educated in has
  • 00:09:37.100 --> 00:09:43.100
  • set you free from the law.
  • 00:09:44.270 --> 00:09:50.010
  • You're not Jewish, but you took on the law that Jewish people
  • 00:09:50.020 --> 00:09:54.100
  • had because you thought you were supposed to, 'cause that's all
  • 00:09:54.110 --> 00:09:57.060
  • you understood about religion.
  • 00:09:57.070 --> 00:09:59.040
  • So you studied the law, you studied the Ten Commandments,
  • 00:09:59.050 --> 00:10:02.030
  • you studied all the things you've got to do to be a good
  • 00:10:02.040 --> 00:10:04.120
  • a good Christian, you studied how to go to church, this is
  • 00:10:04.130 --> 00:10:07.080
  • the way we go to church, and you studied all that stuff, and then
  • 00:10:07.090 --> 00:10:10.180
  • one day, Taffi and I popped out here and say, "We need
  • 00:10:10.190 --> 00:10:13.230
  • to make some adjustments.
  • 00:10:13.240 --> 00:10:14.280
  • We need to talk about this grace of God."
  • 00:10:14.290 --> 00:10:17.060
  • And the more-- those of you who hung in here-- and I hope-- A
  • 00:10:17.070 --> 00:10:20.140
  • whole lot of folks left.
  • 00:10:20.150 --> 00:10:21.220
  • "I don't know about this grace."
  • 00:10:21.230 --> 00:10:22.280
  • You write you should've set yourself here long enough.
  • 00:10:22.290 --> 00:10:26.130
  • So you can know about this grace, because you were
  • 00:10:26.140 --> 00:10:29.040
  • in bondage, and you didn't know it.
  • 00:10:29.050 --> 00:10:32.040
  • The law was given to put a curse on you, and you didn't know it.
  • 00:10:32.050 --> 00:10:36.260
  • But now that you know about this grace, somebody shout "I'm free
  • 00:10:36.270 --> 00:10:40.240
  • from the law."
  • 00:10:40.250 --> 00:10:43.010
  • Say it again.
  • 00:10:43.020 --> 00:10:44.010
  • "I'm free from the law."
  • 00:10:44.020 --> 00:10:47.040
  • Look at Romans 6:14 right quick.
  • 00:10:47.050 --> 00:10:51.260
  • That's not on the list, but look at Romans 6:14.
  • 00:10:51.270 --> 00:10:53.270
  • So you see in verse 17, there's a distinction between the law
  • 00:10:53.280 --> 00:10:59.280
  • that came by Moses and the grace that came by Jesus.
  • 00:11:00.200 --> 00:11:04.230
  • Grace didn't come by Moses, grace came by Jesus.
  • 00:11:04.240 --> 00:11:08.040
  • So you gotta rightly divide everything from the grace that
  • 00:11:08.050 --> 00:11:12.090
  • came by Jesus and the law that came by Moses.
  • 00:11:12.100 --> 00:11:14.060
  • If you don't do that, you're just gonna have a run-on all
  • 00:11:14.070 --> 00:11:18.020
  • the way through, and you won't recognize that there is truth
  • 00:11:18.030 --> 00:11:21.290
  • under the law that came by Moses, which will be
  • 00:11:22.000 --> 00:11:25.110
  • different truth under grace that came by Jesus.
  • 00:11:25.120 --> 00:11:28.250
  • What most Christians are doing is they don't know that, so they
  • 00:11:28.260 --> 00:11:32.100
  • live by the truth that's under the law, because they
  • 00:11:32.110 --> 00:11:35.270
  • don't know the truth that came by Jesus.
  • 00:11:35.280 --> 00:11:37.290
  • If you understand that, say amen.
  • 00:11:38.000 --> 00:11:39.230
  • All right, well, look what he says here.
  • 00:11:39.240 --> 00:11:40.290
  • Let's read it out loud together in Romans 6 verse 14, ready,
  • 00:11:41.000 --> 00:11:44.050
  • read.
  • 00:11:44.060 --> 00:11:45.100
  • "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not
  • 00:11:45.110 --> 00:11:50.120
  • under the law--" Say out loud, I'm not under the law, I'm
  • 00:11:50.130 --> 00:11:56.130
  • under grace.
  • 00:11:57.020 --> 00:11:58.230
  • All right, why does God not want us under the law?
  • 00:11:58.240 --> 00:12:02.260
  • Well, look at the scripture again.
  • 00:12:02.270 --> 00:12:04.090
  • He said "Sin shall not have dominion over you," stop.
  • 00:12:04.100 --> 00:12:08.190
  • So sin, when you're living under the law, and sin is
  • 00:12:08.200 --> 00:12:14.200
  • a result of living under the law, you do understand
  • 00:12:15.150 --> 00:12:19.010
  • that, right?
  • 00:12:19.020 --> 00:12:20.010
  • I'll show you scriptures later.
  • 00:12:20.020 --> 00:12:21.010
  • Sin is gonna be a result of living under the law.
  • 00:12:21.020 --> 00:12:27.020
  • Sin is going to be a result, 1 Corinthians 15:56.
  • 00:12:28.080 --> 00:12:34.090
  • All right, look at this: The sting of death is sin,
  • 00:12:34.100 --> 00:12:38.120
  • the strength of sin is the law.
  • 00:12:38.130 --> 00:12:42.170
  • So the law strengthens sin.
  • 00:12:42.180 --> 00:12:46.160
  • So, Satan is not necessarily tryin' to get you to sin as much
  • 00:12:46.170 --> 00:12:50.270
  • as he is tryin' to get you to live under the law.
  • 00:12:50.280 --> 00:12:55.070
  • 'Cause if you live under the law, the law will
  • 00:12:55.080 --> 00:12:58.110
  • eventually strengthen, entice, and put you into a place where
  • 00:12:58.120 --> 00:13:03.040
  • you sin.
  • 00:13:03.050 --> 00:13:05.080
  • So most of the sin in a man's life is taking place because
  • 00:13:05.090 --> 00:13:10.170
  • somehow he keeps falling from grace back into the law,
  • 00:13:10.180 --> 00:13:15.260
  • tryin' to now fix it hisself, and sin is a result of that.
  • 00:13:15.270 --> 00:13:20.070
  • So he says the law came by Moses.
  • 00:13:20.080 --> 00:13:23.200
  • Listen, God didn't allow the law to be given to make you perfect.
  • 00:13:23.210 --> 00:13:28.010
  • The law wasn't given to make you perfect.
  • 00:13:28.020 --> 00:13:29.220
  • The law was given to give sin the advantage over you.
  • 00:13:29.230 --> 00:13:34.080
  • The law was-- the law from Moses was not given so that you can
  • 00:13:34.090 --> 00:13:37.150
  • have advantage over sin, it was given so sin can have
  • 00:13:37.160 --> 00:13:41.160
  • an advantage over you, amen.
  • 00:13:41.170 --> 00:13:47.170
  • So, sin, when you're living under the law, sin dominates
  • 00:13:54.100 --> 00:14:00.120
  • your life.
  • 00:14:02.170 --> 00:14:05.100
  • Sin shall not have dominion over you anymore.
  • 00:14:05.110 --> 00:14:09.000
  • I announce that every life that is being dominated by some type
  • 00:14:09.010 --> 00:14:14.060
  • of addiction, that some type of sin, today, if you'll
  • 00:14:14.070 --> 00:14:18.180
  • continue in this word, you're going to be set free
  • 00:14:18.190 --> 00:14:22.280
  • from the domination of sin.
  • 00:14:22.290 --> 00:14:25.210
  • In fact, those of you who are under the grace of God, I
  • 00:14:25.220 --> 00:14:29.240
  • declare you are free from the domination of sin.
  • 00:14:29.250 --> 00:14:32.270
  • In other words, you don't have to sin no more if you want to.
  • 00:14:32.280 --> 00:14:36.070
  • Under the law you sin because you wanted to, but under grace
  • 00:14:36.080 --> 00:14:39.160
  • you don't have to sin if you don't want to sin.
  • 00:14:39.170 --> 00:14:42.040
  • You can still sin, but you don't have to sin if you don't want
  • 00:14:42.050 --> 00:14:45.200
  • to sin, because under the grace of God, the sky is the limit,
  • 00:14:45.210 --> 00:14:49.100
  • but you choose Jesus.
  • 00:14:49.110 --> 00:14:54.130
  • Alright, alright, now let's get back to to the sermon.
  • 00:14:54.140 --> 00:14:58.110
  • So law came by Moses, grace came by Jesus.
  • 00:14:58.120 --> 00:15:04.140
  • There's the dividing line right there.
  • 00:15:05.180 --> 00:15:07.260
  • The law by Moses, grace by Jesus.
  • 00:15:07.270 --> 00:15:10.190
  • So, now, in order for you to understand the Bible, you've
  • 00:15:10.200 --> 00:15:13.150
  • got to understand that there was some truth that came dealing
  • 00:15:13.160 --> 00:15:17.170
  • with the law that may not be the truth dealing with grace,
  • 00:15:17.180 --> 00:15:23.180
  • but if you try to make it a general truth all the way
  • 00:15:23.290 --> 00:15:26.250
  • through, you're gonna end up in deception.
  • 00:15:26.260 --> 00:15:29.150
  • Now, let's go to 2 Timothy chapter 2 verse 15.
  • 00:15:29.160 --> 00:15:33.220
  • Let's start off in the King James and then in the Amplified.
  • 00:15:33.230 --> 00:15:39.170
  • Second Timothy chapter 2:15 in the King James and then
  • 00:15:39.180 --> 00:15:43.190
  • the Amplified.
  • 00:15:43.200 --> 00:15:45.240
  • Now I wanna-- I want you to watch this very carefully
  • 00:15:45.250 --> 00:15:48.010
  • here now.
  • 00:15:48.020 --> 00:15:49.010
  • This is so, so very important.
  • 00:15:49.020 --> 00:15:52.190
  • Read verse 15 out loud with me, ready, read.
  • 00:15:52.200 --> 00:15:54.280
  • "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
  • 00:15:54.290 --> 00:15:59.150
  • not to be ashamed rightly..."
  • 00:15:59.160 --> 00:16:03.200
  • Do you hear what he said?
  • 00:16:03.210 --> 00:16:04.200
  • He said what?
  • 00:16:04.210 --> 00:16:05.200
  • Rightly?
  • 00:16:05.210 --> 00:16:08.000
  • Okay, so if you can rightly divide the word, what happens
  • 00:16:08.010 --> 00:16:12.130
  • when you wrongly divide it?
  • 00:16:12.140 --> 00:16:16.030
  • What happens when you wrongly divide it?
  • 00:16:16.040 --> 00:16:18.220
  • When you wrongly divide it and then you get the wrong
  • 00:16:18.230 --> 00:16:21.150
  • impression of God and you misunderstand the nature of God
  • 00:16:21.160 --> 00:16:25.050
  • and then that spirit of religion gets on you and you start acting
  • 00:16:25.060 --> 00:16:27.190
  • religious and saying a bunch of religious stuff that's not
  • 00:16:27.200 --> 00:16:29.250
  • even the truth under grace-- it might be the truth
  • 00:16:29.260 --> 00:16:32.240
  • under the law, but it's not the truth under grace-- now
  • 00:16:32.250 --> 00:16:36.280
  • you're confused because it's not working.
  • 00:16:36.290 --> 00:16:40.020
  • Rightly dividing the word of truth.
  • 00:16:40.030 --> 00:16:42.290
  • So, how do you start rightly dividing?
  • 00:16:43.000 --> 00:16:45.090
  • He says when you read the Bible, you got to know, "Oh, that's
  • 00:16:45.100 --> 00:16:49.070
  • the law.
  • 00:16:49.080 --> 00:16:50.270
  • Oh, that's grace.
  • 00:16:50.280 --> 00:16:53.270
  • Oh yeah, that's the law.
  • 00:16:53.280 --> 00:16:55.280
  • Oh yeah, that's grace."
  • 00:16:55.290 --> 00:16:58.260
  • So you see something that says, "Oh, that's the law."
  • 00:16:58.270 --> 00:17:01.200
  • First thing you say is, "Wait a minute.
  • 00:17:01.210 --> 00:17:02.290
  • I don't live by the law."
  • 00:17:03.000 --> 00:17:05.170
  • Romans 6:14, "I am no longer-- Sin has no dominion over me
  • 00:17:05.180 --> 00:17:10.090
  • for I'm not under the law," but I'm under what?
  • 00:17:10.100 --> 00:17:13.030
  • So you have to rightly divide the truth so you can see what
  • 00:17:13.040 --> 00:17:16.250
  • pertains to you under grace.
  • 00:17:16.260 --> 00:17:21.240
  • The whole Bible don't pertain to you, you're looking
  • 00:17:21.250 --> 00:17:27.250
  • for the truth of grace.
  • 00:17:29.010 --> 00:17:35.000
  • But what's been happening?
  • 00:17:36.020 --> 00:17:37.160
  • We've been read the whole Bible not rightly dividing it, and now
  • 00:17:37.170 --> 00:17:40.160
  • we're taking something that's not true under grace and tryin'
  • 00:17:40.170 --> 00:17:44.240
  • to make it work, and that's not truth under grace.
  • 00:17:44.250 --> 00:17:49.160
  • And so rightly dividing simply means I've got to divide
  • 00:17:49.170 --> 00:17:54.230
  • between what was true under the law that came by Moses
  • 00:17:54.240 --> 00:17:58.130
  • and what is true concerning the grace that came
  • 00:17:58.140 --> 00:18:02.150
  • by Jesus Christ.
  • 00:18:02.160 --> 00:18:03.150
  • If you understand that, say amen.
  • 00:18:03.160 --> 00:18:05.270
  • Now, let's look at this in the Amplified.
  • 00:18:05.280 --> 00:18:10.160
  • Oh, Lord it's like how can I get this message out to the entire
  • 00:18:10.170 --> 00:18:14.150
  • world?
  • 00:18:14.160 --> 00:18:17.140
  • Just preach it 100 times, I guess.
  • 00:18:17.150 --> 00:18:20.130
  • All right, now watch this.
  • 00:18:20.140 --> 00:18:22.050
  • Read this with me.
  • 00:18:22.060 --> 00:18:23.050
  • Put it on the screen so everyone can see it.
  • 00:18:23.060 --> 00:18:24.050
  • Read this out loud with me, ready, read.
  • 00:18:24.060 --> 00:18:25.280
  • Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself
  • 00:18:25.290 --> 00:18:30.090
  • to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no
  • 00:18:30.100 --> 00:18:35.180
  • cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately
  • 00:18:35.190 --> 00:18:40.130
  • dividing
  • 00:18:40.140 --> 00:18:41.190
  • [rightly handling and skillfully teaching]...
  • 00:18:41.200 --> 00:18:46.130
  • Did you see that?
  • 00:18:46.140 --> 00:18:48.050
  • All of a sudden that's got-- That scripture by itself has
  • 00:18:48.060 --> 00:18:51.280
  • gotten rid of this little thing that you know, "Well, I'm
  • 00:18:51.290 --> 00:18:54.180
  • a Christian.
  • 00:18:54.190 --> 00:18:55.180
  • I can read."
  • 00:18:55.190 --> 00:18:57.160
  • Just 'cause you can read doesn't necessarily mean you're rightly
  • 00:18:57.170 --> 00:19:00.130
  • dividing it when you read it.
  • 00:19:00.140 --> 00:19:04.080
  • I'm always dealing with these Christians who want to correct
  • 00:19:04.090 --> 00:19:08.290
  • you and say, "Well, my Bible says," and I'm thinking yeah,
  • 00:19:09.000 --> 00:19:13.090
  • but you're reading truth under the law.
  • 00:19:13.100 --> 00:19:16.220
  • So my question is are you living under the law?
  • 00:19:16.230 --> 00:19:19.030
  • Or are you living under grace?
  • 00:19:19.040 --> 00:19:21.160
  • 'Cause if you come to me and talk about, "Well, my Bible
  • 00:19:21.170 --> 00:19:24.130
  • tells me that the curse goes, you know, from-- to four
  • 00:19:24.140 --> 00:19:28.090
  • generations.
  • 00:19:28.100 --> 00:19:29.260
  • And my Bible tells me about generational curses."
  • 00:19:29.270 --> 00:19:32.110
  • And I'm thinking that's true under the law, but under grace
  • 00:19:32.120 --> 00:19:37.290
  • we ain't talking about no generational curses.
  • 00:19:38.000 --> 00:19:40.110
  • Under grace Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.
  • 00:19:40.120 --> 00:19:44.150
  • Now we're talkin' about generational blessings.
  • 00:19:44.160 --> 00:19:50.160
  • And I speak generational blessings over your life right
  • 00:19:52.010 --> 00:19:54.240
  • now.
  • 00:19:54.250 --> 00:19:57.060
  • I command generational blessings come to you right now
  • 00:19:57.070 --> 00:19:59.240
  • in the name of Jesus.
  • 00:19:59.250 --> 00:20:03.030
  • You see what I'm saying?
  • 00:20:03.040 --> 00:20:04.040
  • We're not talking about no generational curses.
  • 00:20:04.050 --> 00:20:07.250
  • Any preacher that comes up to you and says, "If you
  • 00:20:07.260 --> 00:20:10.080
  • don't do this, I'm gonna curse you."
  • 00:20:10.090 --> 00:20:11.220
  • He is an Old Testament, out-of-order prophet that is
  • 00:20:11.230 --> 00:20:15.210
  • obsolete, 'cause New Testament prophets don't put no curse
  • 00:20:15.220 --> 00:20:21.150
  • on nobody.
  • 00:20:21.160 --> 00:20:26.290
  • For comfort, for exhortation, and edification, not cursing.
  • 00:20:27.000 --> 00:20:32.290
  • "I'm a prophet.
  • 00:20:34.030 --> 00:20:35.020
  • You do this again, I'm gonna curse you."
  • 00:20:35.030 --> 00:20:36.100
  • You are of the devil, or you're tryin' to act like what was okay
  • 00:20:36.110 --> 00:20:42.040
  • to do under the law.
  • 00:20:45.230 --> 00:20:50.100
  • You remember when Elijah prayed fire in 1 Kings?
  • 00:20:50.110 --> 00:20:55.060
  • Fire to come down and consume 102 men.
  • 00:20:55.070 --> 00:20:58.170
  • You remember that happened?
  • 00:20:58.180 --> 00:21:00.270
  • Now imagine somebody tryin' to do that today.
  • 00:21:00.280 --> 00:21:02.180
  • In fact, when Jesus was on the Earth, in Luke Chapter 9
  • 00:21:02.190 --> 00:21:06.010
  • his disciples tried that.
  • 00:21:06.020 --> 00:21:07.150
  • In fact, they were goin' to Jerusalem, they had to go
  • 00:21:07.160 --> 00:21:09.190
  • through Samaria, and one of the disciples said they
  • 00:21:09.200 --> 00:21:12.280
  • wouldn't let 'em have the meeting there, because there
  • 00:21:12.290 --> 00:21:16.050
  • was some ongoing strife between the Samaritans
  • 00:21:16.060 --> 00:21:18.170
  • and the Jews because of traditions and all that kind
  • 00:21:18.180 --> 00:21:20.200
  • of stuff.
  • 00:21:20.210 --> 00:21:21.260
  • And what happened was they said, "No, we're not gonna let you
  • 00:21:21.270 --> 00:21:23.290
  • have no meeting here.
  • 00:21:24.000 --> 00:21:25.050
  • And you're goin' down there after you know what they did
  • 00:21:25.060 --> 00:21:27.070
  • to us?"
  • 00:21:27.080 --> 00:21:28.260
  • And Jesus' disciples said, "Shouldn't we call fire
  • 00:21:28.270 --> 00:21:34.060
  • from heaven like Elijah did?"
  • 00:21:34.070 --> 00:21:38.070
  • And you know what Jesus did?
  • 00:21:38.080 --> 00:21:39.070
  • He rebuked 'em.
  • 00:21:39.080 --> 00:21:41.080
  • He said, "You don't know what spirit you are of.
  • 00:21:41.090 --> 00:21:45.070
  • That was okay then because men couldn't get their nature
  • 00:21:45.080 --> 00:21:50.000
  • changed, and they couldn't get born again, but now I'm here,
  • 00:21:50.010 --> 00:21:54.050
  • and the result of me being here is that men are going to be able
  • 00:21:54.060 --> 00:21:57.000
  • to get their nature changed and get born again.
  • 00:21:57.010 --> 00:21:59.060
  • Don't you call fire down.
  • 00:21:59.070 --> 00:22:00.230
  • We don't need fire no more, because I am the hope
  • 00:22:00.240 --> 00:22:03.080
  • of transformation in the life of those people."
  • 00:22:03.090 --> 00:22:08.220
  • See, so what truth are you preaching, obsolete truth
  • 00:22:08.230 --> 00:22:13.210
  • or present-day grace truth?
  • 00:22:13.220 --> 00:22:16.250
  • So he says here, you gotta rightly handle, watch this-- God
  • 00:22:16.260 --> 00:22:22.080
  • help me on this one-- skillfully teach.
  • 00:22:22.090 --> 00:22:25.240
  • I just don't understand.
  • 00:22:25.250 --> 00:22:27.040
  • Some people stand and certain churches, and you know it's not
  • 00:22:27.050 --> 00:22:30.050
  • skillfully being taught.
  • 00:22:30.060 --> 00:22:32.140
  • You're just satisfied with them saying just enough so you can
  • 00:22:32.150 --> 00:22:34.250
  • shout.
  • 00:22:34.260 --> 00:22:36.250
  • And church has got to be more than you come into church
  • 00:22:36.260 --> 00:22:39.150
  • and just getting on somebody's nerve 'cause you shoutin' amen
  • 00:22:39.160 --> 00:22:42.100
  • every other sentence.
  • 00:22:42.110 --> 00:22:44.080
  • People tryin' to listen to the word, and you, "Amen,
  • 00:22:44.090 --> 00:22:46.240
  • amen, Amen, amen."
  • 00:22:46.250 --> 00:22:48.250
  • How 'bout shut up, shut up, shut up, and listen and listen
  • 00:22:48.260 --> 00:22:53.150
  • and listen?
  • 00:22:53.160 --> 00:22:55.180
  • I mean, you sound like some kind of programmed robot, "Amen,
  • 00:22:55.190 --> 00:22:58.090
  • amen, amen," because you picked it up from religion.
  • 00:22:58.100 --> 00:23:01.070
  • "Well, what's wrong with that?"
  • 00:23:01.080 --> 00:23:02.130
  • What's wrong with that is faith cometh by hearing, and if I
  • 00:23:02.140 --> 00:23:08.130
  • can't hear, it can't come, and you've got people
  • 00:23:08.140 --> 00:23:10.120
  • around you-- even in this church-- you've got people
  • 00:23:10.130 --> 00:23:12.000
  • around you tryin' to hear, but they can't hear because
  • 00:23:12.010 --> 00:23:15.050
  • you're tryin' to demonstrate that you religious.
  • 00:23:15.060 --> 00:23:18.230
  • Amen, Pastor.
  • 00:23:18.240 --> 00:23:19.230
  • Amen.
  • 00:23:19.240 --> 00:23:20.270
  • You're a preacher-- One day you're gonna be sitting
  • 00:23:20.280 --> 00:23:24.010
  • around the wrong one, and they just got saved like last week.
  • 00:23:24.020 --> 00:23:30.020
  • It's not necessary.
  • 00:23:32.250 --> 00:23:36.060
  • It's not necessary.
  • 00:23:36.070 --> 00:23:38.270
  • I certainly don't need it.
  • 00:23:38.280 --> 00:23:41.070
  • I'm completely delivered from the responses of people.
  • 00:23:41.080 --> 00:23:44.060
  • I don't need responses to let me know whether or not I'm doing
  • 00:23:44.070 --> 00:23:47.120
  • good.
  • 00:23:47.130 --> 00:23:48.120
  • I'm not tryin' to do good.
  • 00:23:48.130 --> 00:23:49.120
  • I'm on assignment.
  • 00:23:49.130 --> 00:23:50.200
  • I'm just tryin' to do what I've been assigned to do for the day.
  • 00:23:50.210 --> 00:23:52.210
  • I'm not looking for applause, and I'm not lookin' for you
  • 00:23:52.220 --> 00:23:55.070
  • to give me a perfect 10.
  • 00:23:55.080 --> 00:23:56.200
  • I'm going to preach what I need to preach, you can fall asleep.
  • 00:23:56.210 --> 00:23:58.200
  • It ain't my fault you falling asleep.
  • 00:23:58.210 --> 00:23:59.270
  • I ain't boring.
  • 00:23:59.280 --> 00:24:01.060
  • It ain't my fault, you just didn't go to bed early enough.
  • 00:24:01.070 --> 00:24:03.060
  • That's you.
  • 00:24:03.070 --> 00:24:09.070
  • That's religion, and I realize people get excited sometimes,
  • 00:24:11.240 --> 00:24:15.120
  • but that's religion.
  • 00:24:15.130 --> 00:24:16.170
  • We don't know how to honor the word when it's going forth,
  • 00:24:16.180 --> 00:24:20.240
  • because that religion got in, "Amen, amen, yeah, yeah, yeah,
  • 00:24:20.250 --> 00:24:26.030
  • yeah, yeah," especially when they got to a loud, squeaky,
  • 00:24:26.040 --> 00:24:29.060
  • irritating voice, "Yeah, amen, yeah, yeah," and you just
  • 00:24:29.070 --> 00:24:33.070
  • sitting up there, "Oh, god," and you're working
  • 00:24:33.080 --> 00:24:35.180
  • on temperance, like, "I could just choke the amen out of her.
  • 00:24:35.190 --> 00:24:39.000
  • If I can just choke all the amen, maybe I can get
  • 00:24:39.010 --> 00:24:41.090
  • the doggone notes.
  • 00:24:41.100 --> 00:24:42.090
  • I couldn't hear what he said."
  • 00:24:42.100 --> 00:24:44.180
  • And you sitting up there fighting strife instead of being
  • 00:24:44.190 --> 00:24:46.160
  • filled with the word.
  • 00:24:46.170 --> 00:24:47.180
  • Y'all know I'm telling you the truth.
  • 00:24:47.190 --> 00:24:48.230
  • That's why y'all quiet.
  • 00:24:48.240 --> 00:24:50.200
  • You're sittin' there lookin' at the person next to you like,
  • 00:24:50.210 --> 00:24:52.130
  • "Mm-hmm."
  • 00:24:52.140 --> 00:24:54.000
  • Now you want to shout, "Uh-huh, say it now, preacher."
  • 00:24:54.010 --> 00:25:00.030
  • Of course I'm not tryin' to put you in a bunch, but I'm just
  • 00:25:01.030 --> 00:25:02.230
  • just showing this is what religion has done, and then
  • 00:25:02.240 --> 00:25:05.170
  • skillfully teaching it.
  • 00:25:05.180 --> 00:25:07.250
  • We say amen to stuff that's not even correct.
  • 00:25:07.260 --> 00:25:13.260
  • We shout over truth that's obsolete from the law.
  • 00:25:14.230 --> 00:25:20.240
  • You can literally go to church and sit there and realize what
  • 00:25:20.250 --> 00:25:24.030
  • you're sitting in, and when you go to a church that's
  • 00:25:24.040 --> 00:25:27.270
  • under the law, all you gotta do is follow the breadcrumbs.
  • 00:25:27.280 --> 00:25:32.030
  • There is sin.
  • 00:25:32.040 --> 00:25:34.210
  • If the preacher is preaching a whole bunch of law, and every
  • 00:25:34.220 --> 00:25:37.230
  • time he stands up he says you don't need to commit
  • 00:25:37.240 --> 00:25:40.030
  • fornication, y'all need to be ashamed yourself committing
  • 00:25:40.040 --> 00:25:42.010
  • fornication.
  • 00:25:42.020 --> 00:25:43.030
  • He probably got some fornicating going on somewhere.
  • 00:25:43.040 --> 00:25:48.080
  • announcer: How do you see the Christian life?
  • 00:25:48.110 --> 00:25:50.150
  • Is it a performance-driven life, or is it a life depending
  • 00:25:50.160 --> 00:25:54.070
  • on Jesus?
  • 00:25:54.080 --> 00:25:55.150
  • In this series by Creflo Dollar, you will learn how your outlook
  • 00:25:55.160 --> 00:25:59.030

  • Creflo: He started the work, he's gonna finish the work, all
  • 00:26:01.200 --> 00:26:05.080

  • He just needs you to believe, praise God.
  • 00:26:06.180 --> 00:26:11.250

  • 00:26:19.260 --> 00:26:22.240
  • Gary Taylor: You are not gonna be satisfied until you do what
  • 00:26:22.250 --> 00:26:27.280
  • he commissioned you to do.
  • 00:26:27.290 --> 00:26:30.150
  • Michael T. Smith: I wanted to do right but couldn't,
  • 00:26:30.160 --> 00:26:32.000
  • but now the spirit of God lives in me,
  • 00:26:32.010 --> 00:26:33.270
  • and he gives me power to do what I could not do on my own.
  • 00:26:33.280 --> 00:26:36.170
  • Ken Terry: I expect to get understanding,
  • 00:26:36.180 --> 00:26:38.060
  • I expect for me to grow in my grace.
  • 00:26:38.070 --> 00:26:40.170
  • Kenneth Fuller: So when things come our way,
  • 00:26:40.180 --> 00:26:42.080
  • when things come up against us,
  • 00:26:42.090 --> 00:26:44.020
  • we know that we comin' through.
  • 00:26:44.030 --> 00:26:45.280
  • announcer: See you there.
  • 00:26:45.290 --> 00:26:47.260
