Jan. 28 (Day 1)
Depart USA for Israel

Our Holy Land adventure begins as we depart today from the USA on an overnight flight to Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Jan. 29 (Day 2)
Arrive in Tel Aviv. Overnight in Jerusalem

On arrival in Tel Aviv, we will be met by our airport representative and transported via deluxe motor coach to our hotel in Jerusalem, the “City of Gold,” where we will transfer to our hotel for overnight.

Jan. 30 (Day 3)
Introduction to the City of Jerusalem / Mt. of Olives (service) / Palm Sunday Road / Israel Museum / Model City /Shrine of the Book / Knessett

Our first full day in Jerusalem begins with an introduction to the city and then on to a glorious worship service atop the Mount of Olives—the very place where Jesus stood and looked over the city of Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. It was also from this spot, forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven (Acts 1: 9-12). We’ll retrace His steps as we walk down the slope of the Mt. of Olives on the Palm Sunday Road.

Jerusalem from the top of the Mount of Olives where Jesus stood and looked over the city and the place from where He ascended back to heaven.

From there, we board our buses to visit the Israel Museum-Shrine of the Book, where we’ll view the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. We’ll see the Knesset building, where the Israeli parliament meets and then round out our day with a tour of the Model of Ancient Jerusalem, a fascinating 21,520 square foot recreation of the city as it looked in Jesus’ time.

Jan. 31 (Day 4)
Yad Vashem – Holocaust Memorial Museum / Bethlehem

Today we visit Yad Vashem, a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and a somber and poignant reminder of what the Jews have suffered as a people. From there, we travel to Bethlehem where we’ll visit the 1,684 year old Church of the Nativity built over the traditional site where Jesus was born (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 2:1-7). Nearby, we will view Shepherds’ Field where the angels announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds “abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night” (Luke 2:8).

Feb. 1 (Day 5)
St. Peter in Gallicantu / Mt. Zion (Upper Room) / Zion’s Gate / Jewish Quarter / Cardo / Hezekiah’s Broad Wall / Hulda Steps / Herodian Area / Western Wall

Today’s journey will take us to the Zion Gate and entrance into the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. A visit to the Temple Mount area will bring us to the Western Wall, the remaining section of the retaining wall that enclosed and supported the Second Temple built by Herod the Great in 20 B.C. We’ll see the ancient Hulda Steps—the very steps believed taken by Jesus up to the Temple Mount, as well as the Herodian area and Hezekiah’s Broad Wall. We’ll explore the Cardo, the ancient main street of the Old City once lined with shops, now partially restored. Then, we’ll travel to the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu and Mt. Zion where we’ll enter the Upper Room, revered as the place of the Last Supper (Mark 14).

Feb. 2 (Day 6)
Caesarea / Mt. Carmel / Nazareth / Cana

Today we head to the Mediterranean coast and the beautiful city of Caesarea where we will view the breathtaking ancient Roman aqueduct and theatre. A center of the early Christians, it was here in Caesarea that Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the new covenant (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before taken to Rome for trial (Acts 23). We travel onwards to view the Jezreel Valley from the heights of Mount Carmel. On this mount, Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). We’ll visit Nazareth, Jesus' boyhood home (Matthew 2:23), and then on to Cana, the location of Jesus’ first recorded miracle (John 2:1-11).

Feb. 3 (Day 7)
Good Samaritan Road to Jordan Valley / Mt. of Beatitudes/ Capernaum / Boat Ride / Fish Lunch / Baptismal Site / Night of Hope Service in Jerusalem with Joel and Victoria Osteen

We travel to northern Israel today through the Judean Wilderness via the Good Samaritan Road where we will pass through “The Valley of the Shadow.” We’ll continue onwards through the Jordan Valley to the tranquil Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount.

Jerusalem: Archaeological Garden (Ophel and Davidson Center)

Then, we’ll travel to nearby Capernaum, the center of Jesus' ministry in the Galilee, and visit the remains of the ancient synagogue that stands on the site where He taught. We’ll cross the waters of the Sea of Galilee aboard a Kinnereth Sailing Company boat. A special St. Peter's Fish lunch awaits us at the Ein Gev kibbutz. We return to Jerusalem for a glorious, historic Night of Hope service with Joel and Victoria Osteen.

Feb. 4 (Day 8)
Leisure Day with Optional Masada and Dead Sea Tour

Explore on your own or visit Masada (additional charge - $70; lunch not included), Herod’s spectacular mountaintop fortress which became the last stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top and actually see the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Time permitting, there will be a brief stop at the shores of the Dead Sea for a quick dip in the salt and mineral laden waters.

Haifa and bay from top of Mt. Carmel

Traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount

Feb. 5 (Day 9)
Via Dolorosa / St. Anne’s/ Pool of Bethesda / Ecce Homo / Garden Tomb / Gordon’s Calvary / Farewell Dinner / Transport to Airport

Our final day in Israel takes us through the Old City down the Via Dolorosa, “the way of the Cross.” We’ll see the Church of St. Anne, the traditional site of the birthplace of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle (John 5:1-31). Today’s walking tour includes a stop at the Ecce Homo Arch where, according to tradition, Pontius Pilate uttered the words, “Behold the man!” after Christ’s scourging (John 19:5). Our day in the Old City concludes with a time of worship at the Garden Tomb, possible site of the garden of Joseph of Arimathea, and nearby Gordon’s Calvary where “the place of the skull” can be discerned in the side of the hill. After our farewell dinner, we’ll board our airport transport to Tel Aviv for our flight to the USA.

Feb. 6 (Day 10)
Return to USA

We arrive back in the USA today with a lifetime of memories and friendships to cherish.
