Christian Television Leader Trinity Broadcasting Network Announces Broadcast Partnership With Finland's Premier Faith Channel, Alfa TV
LOS ANGELES (February 26, 2014) — Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world's largest Christian television network, announced that it has reached a partnership agreement with Alfa TV, Finland's premier Christian network. Under the new affiliation, TBN will provide Alfa TV with a number of its most popular programs, including TBN's flagship music and talk show “Praise the Lord,” its long-running “Behind the Scenes” program, and several of TBN's key ministry programs. Alfa TV also plans to add programming from TBN's Smile of a Child kids network and its JUCE channel for teens and young adults.
Alfa TV founder Hannu Haukka noted that the Finnish Christian network reaches 85 percent of all households across Finland via its terrestrial signal, and some 660,000 households in the greater Helsinki area through cable television. Additionally, there are plans to extend Alfa TV's reach throughout Scandinavia through satellite.
“We are excited to add TBN's strong faith-and-family programming presence to Alfa TV's broadcast outreach,” said Mr. Haukka. “There is a great spiritual hunger across Finland and Scandinavia, and with TBN's partnership we are reaching out to fill that void.”
TBN Vice President Matthew Crouch welcomed Alfa TV as the newest member of the Trinity Broadcasting Family of Networks. “Beginning with one small station in Southern California in 1973, TBN now covers every inhabited continent with entertaining and inspiring faith-and-family programming 24 hours a day,” he said. “Our partnership with Alfa TV means that millions of viewers throughout Finland — and ultimately across Scandinavia — will have access to the life-changing programming that has been the hallmark of TBN for over forty years.”
