Pre-special 1: " A Walk By Faith" is the story of Majed El Shafie who was born into a prestigious Moslem family in Cairo. At 18 he secretly converted to Christianity. He was eventually arrested, tortured, and sentenced to death. With the help of fellow Egyptian Christians, he escaped to Israel. There he encountered compassion for the first time. The government of Israel was under great pressure from Egypt to extradite him to be executed. The people of Israel began a campaign to free him.  The Israeli Supreme Court made it official and Majed was freed to immigrate to Canada where he became a minister and human rights activist. His entire adult life has truly been a walk by faith.
