Do angels fight in the spiritual realms? Daniel’s fourth vision had such a profound impact on him that he was in “mourning three full weeks” and didn’t eat or drink wine. It is then that a mysterious heavenly messenger appears and explains to Daniel that, from the first day, Daniel sought to understand the vision’s meaning, the messenger was on his way; however, resistance in the spiritual realms had caused his delay. It was only when Michael, “one of the chief princes,“ intervened to help him that he could continue his journey to Daniel to explain the vision’s meaning. The messenger told Daniel that the vision was about what “will happen to your people in the latter days…” Daniel’s people are the Jews, the nation of Israel.
