I think we can all agree that no need is greater in the heart of each of us than to know the love of a father. From protection and provision, to affirmation, encouragement, and a lot more, a father is meant to be a buffer for his children from the world around them as they grow to maturity, and to call them into their place and purpose.
Sadly, we know that many individuals grow up with no father at all, or one who is distant, emotionally cruel, and abusive. The truth is that even at their best, our earthly fathers are far from perfect. And that is because there is only one good and perfect Father, who never changes, who is ever present, and who is always looking out for our best interests (James 1:17, Jeremiah 29:11).
As His children through Christ, we are always welcome in our heavenly Father’s presence. In fact, in our times of deepest trial and crisis, God beckons us to come boldly to the throne of grace, where we will experience His abundant mercy and find grace in our every need (Hebrews 4:16).
“When people ask you who your God is … you can say, ‘He is everything I will ever need.’” — T.D. Jakes
In his insightful book, God’s Provision for Your Every Need, our good friend, Bishop T.D. Jakes, writes that often it is in those times of deepest need, in the wilderness, that our Father most clearly reveals His care for us, and where He refines us for His purposes. “There is something about going through dilemmas and crises that bring us to the place where we discover things about God which we would not have known under other circumstances,” he writes. The most important thing we discover is that He is our faithful heavenly Father in every situation. “When people ask you who your God is, how do you respond?” asks Bishop Jakes. “With confidence, your shoulders held high, and a smile on your face you can say, ‘He is everything I will ever need.’”
Every day at your TBN, we are using creative and engaging content to clearly guide individuals to the heart of the heavenly Father, where millions are discovering His saving grace, help, and healing.
That includes folks like Darrius, who recently wrote: “May God bless the TBN team for all you do for the body of Christ. I am an inmate in Indiana and want you to know that you have made an impact on countless lives who will be affected for eternity.”
