Fighting Our Battles Through Worship and Prayer
We’re a network that loves to pray. Every hour of every day there is somebody at TBN praying for you and for our world. Praying is one of the most important things that we as Christians can do, and so we’ve been praying big prayers, little prayers, and every prayer imaginable in between. Every prayer matters. They matter because we matter to God.
God heard our prayers and answered them in a powerful way this past August and October when TBN filmed and aired Surrounded: A Night of Worship with Michael W. Smith. Though the Night of Worship was held in Music City—Nashville--its impact continues to be felt worldwide.
#SurroundedEvent brought 12,000 members of our TBN family together in August for a live worship, prayer, and awakening experience held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. An unprecedented number of you tuned in for our October Facebook and TV broadcast of the event. You shared prayer requests throughout the broadcast, we prayed for one another, and we prayed for our world. Over the short time between our web and TV broadcasts in October until now, we’ve seen the Holy Spirit answer many prayers even during the broadcast!
We expected that God would move in mighty ways because that’s what He does. But Christ’s glory supersedes anything that we can ever imagine. And the way that He orchestrated and used our broadcast was far beyond anything that we could have ever imagined. Surrounded first aired two days after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. Many of you shared with us how much you needed to hear the message of hope that Jesus brings. We prayed for our country, our neighbors, for our world. We prayed for those we love and asked for Christ’s heart towards those who hurt us. And though we were praying from all corners of the world, it felt like we were together in the same room. Jesus does that. He gathers His believers together for His purpose—to know Him, to make Him known, and to bring comfort and hope to a lost and hurting world.
