Ann Voskamp on How God Pours into Us When We Pour into Others.
Before COVID-19, much of the world was running on empty just trying to get through from one day to the next. This pandemic in a sense forced billions of people to take a weeks-long sabbath.
And even though there’s been so many changes both good and bad, we’ve seen so much beauty emerge from this forced ‘sabbath’! Skies have cleared, pollution has eased, people are going outside and exercising, animals are reclaiming land usually occupied by humans. Families are spending time together - building puzzles, playing board games, eating all three meals together … it’s a reminder of a much simpler time back when things weren’t so busy.
Right now, many of us have extra time on our hands. Let’s use this time to fill our cups with God’s Word. Fill it so that you’re full to the brim with Christ. Then, pour His Word out to others.
This season of social distancing will eventually end. Many of us will flock to hair salons, restaurants, concerts, and other places where people gather. Let’s use the extra time that we have now to plan new ways that we can serve each other after social distancing ends.
What are the gifts, talents, and physical belongings that God has given you? Use what’s in your cup to pour into others! And don’t be afraid to get creative!
