If this is your first time hearing about Drive Thru History, we’ll catch you up! Here are 3 things you need to know about Episode 1 (don’t worry – we won’t spoil much):
- Do you like jokes? Clean humor? Want to be entertained while learning? Host Dave Stotts is funny, witty, and, at times self-deprecating. His delivery is energetic, emphatic, and educational. If you’re a history buff, a Christian, both or neither, you won’t want to miss a second of this series!
- You will see Israel like never before! Even if you’ve been to Israel in the past either on your own, with your church, or as part of TBN’s recent Hope & Grace Tour, you will learn and see something new from the Israel that Dave Stotts uncovers!
- You will learn about the Book of Acts. Acts is sometimes known as the Acts of the Apostles. According to most scholars, Acts was written by Luke as a continuation of the Gospel of Luke. Dave Stotts further dives into the history of Acts and reveals that, according to many scholars, both the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts were used to support Paul’s legal defense in Rome in about 62 AD.
- Sir William Ramsay was one of the greatest archaeologists of all time. He was also so convinced of the archaeological inaccuracies found in Luke’s writings that he traveled throughout Asia Minor, Greece, and other places to gather evidence to counter Scripture. After years of studying Luke’s account, Ramsay discovered the total opposite of what he had originally thought and completely reversed his position about Luke’s writing!
So, buckle up wherever you are and enjoy the ride as we Drive Thru History! You won’t want to miss a mile!
